Colorado Springs or Bust

Or how about both...

Other than a short overnight stopover about four years ago it has been entirely too long since I've returned to my old stomping grounds. This morning after worshiping at Richland Hills Church of Christ I am off to Colorado Springs. Growing up, I lived in The Springs for almost four years, much longer than anywhere else I ever lived. Only 11 hours or so before I'll be back and this time I get to spend over a week. I can't wait to do some hiking in the thin air and to drive around in the Rockies.

Missions Resource Network

This weekend Missions Resource Network celebrated their 10th anniversary of helping equip churches and mission teams to plant churches around the world. They have been working with us as we are preparing for and planning our move to Angola. Friday night they asked us to come to their benefit dinner in Dallas. It was a great opportunity to meet new contacts and potential partners in ministry for the future. It's hard to believe that after 7 years this Angola thing is actually starting to happen.

Happy Birthday MRN!

On the Road Again

I'm about to hit the road again tomorrow morning. I have spent the day packing my car and trying to make sure I don't forget anything. I will be living out of my car for almost two months! My first stop is in Terrell Texas where I will be visiting Keith & Robin Honey, former missionaries to Botswana, Zambia and Kenya. They will be returning as missionaries to Botswana very soon. So they practically be our neighbors, only about 1000 miles away. It will be great to have wise and mature mentors like the Honeys on the same continent. Their years of experience and ministry in Africa will be valuable to us as we begin the work in Angola.

Where in the World is Angola?

I am often asked "Where in the world is Angola?" And with the help of my strange friends from Michigan I have come up simple way to point out where Angola is. All I have to do is take off my left shoe and sock.
